No toys so the little boy is using a stick to roll a wheel frame!
He was REALLY good at it!

CHORES in Sierra Leone

Clothes drying

Why they need us....this little girl has a hernia.

These pictures are not rare in Sierra Leone, but rather something I see in every section of town!

  1. Jen - after I read your post yesterday I couldn't stop thinking about Quami's brother and how his mother attempted to starve him after he accepted JESUS as his LORD and SAVIOR ... the tears flowed. As I read your prior posts, I had a feeling there was more going on ... a spiritual battle. Ephesians 6:12 makes it clear "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Something so perverted as a mother's love has to be the work of the enemy. As believers, we know that no matter what happens, Quami's brother has the ultimate prize - victory over death and eternity with JESUS in heaven! The word is clear in 2 Peter 3:9 "the LORD is not willing that any should perish" I am praying for laborers to come in the path of the mothers in Sierra Lione. Jen - the love that you and others on your team demonstrate is an supernatural love - the love of Christ, a love that even baffles a mother. Can you imagine what these mothers think when someone travels half way around the world, leaving the comfort of their own lives to help people in the African bush? That is a love that they cannot fathom ... the love of Christ. My prayer is for the mothers - hearts softened and souls saved.

Praising the greater one in you!

Love you brave sister in Christ!

  2. Jen - I just realized you are traveling home now. I love this verse - Deuteronomy 33:12
"Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders."

Believing your journey home will be spent resting in the arms of the LORD!

Love you, love you, love you!
